Pricing
DreamLayer bills one credit per successful ordinary image. Sprite sheets use frame-count pricing, and Video uses an approved quote. There is no subscription and no per-seat charge.Credits
- One public API credit costs $0.15 for new purchases. Existing balances are unchanged. New sprite estimates and video quotes use the usage prices below; previously accepted jobs and valid stored quotes retain their original charge.
- Every finished image costs one credit, whichever operation produced it: text-to-image, image-to-image, background removal, or upscale.
- A run that fails costs nothing. The credit is reserved when the job starts and released if it never produces an image.
- The minimum public purchase is 59 credits, or $8.85. A single purchase can contain up to 4,000 credits ($600).
- Credits do not expire.
- Auto-reload is not currently available.
What counts as a successful ordinary image
A live job reserves one credit and settles it only after the image is delivered. A failed or cancelled job that does not deliver the contracted result restores the reserved credit automatically, so a provider outage does not cost you anything. Purchased API credits are non-refundable.Video
Video uses API credits from the same balance, but is not a one-credit image operation. RequestPOST /v1/video/quotes, review customer_price.amount, then accept it with a sufficient max_credits ceiling of at most 100. Quoting does not start generation or reserve generation credits.
Video costs 3.3 API credits per requested second. Sound is on by default and costs the same as sound off. The default is 10 seconds at 720p. The returned quote confirms the available settings and charge before you accept it.
USD equivalents are rounded for display, not charged separately. Supported duration depends on the requested video. Video always uses the API wallet, including on the browser video page.
Acceptance reserves the quote; owned MP4 delivery settles it once. Failed or eligible cancelled jobs restore the hold. Long-unresolved jobs can be refunded before their final state is known; later delivery after restoration is not charged again. Check the execution’s billing fields. See Video settings and pricing and recovery.
The CLI and MCP server cost nothing extra
Both are free to install and both spend from the same balance as a direct API call. One image is one credit regardless of which of the three you used to ask for it.Check your balance

Sprite-sheet beta
The sprite beta is available to authenticated accounts under normal credit and quota checks. API, CLI, and MCP requests share the API balance. The App Sprite Sheets page uses the separate App balance. Request 7–100 frames, with 12 as the default. Transparent sprite sheets cost 4.2 API credits plus 0.2 per frame, including exports. Export size does not change the price. Keeping the background costs $0.32 plus $0.01 per frame, converted to credits at your account’s undiscounted purchase rate and rounded upward to four decimal places.
Use authenticated
GET /v1/sprite-pricing?frame_count=12&background=remove for
your account’s current estimate. It returns decimal-string credits,
reference_usd, reference_credit_cents, price_version, and binding: false.
This is an estimate, not a reservation: submission checks the current price again.
Use GET /v1/capabilities?pricing=current for the current formula. The default
capabilities pricing fields are deprecated historical estimates retained for old
clients; they must not be used to calculate today’s charge. Set max_credits to
the amount you approve. A ceiling below the actual price refuses without a debit.
The total is held when the job starts and settled only on complete delivery.
Failure or timeout restores the hold. Sprite requests have no customer
cancellation. Image operations keep their one-credit price.
See sprite sheets for exact rounding examples and
animation options. Broad animation requests do not guarantee successful results.
